Sorry for not answering anyone who’s posted in the “ask me a question” section. I forgot to check the inbox!

Thanks for everyone’s comments. I wasn’t able to respond to the anonymous posts, so make sure to ask again and log in if you have more questions. The most common question I got was, “What software and hardware do you use to make music?”

I use Ableton Suite 8 for my DAW, and Komplete 7 for my instruments. I use the old version of the Axiom 49 keyboard as my controller. I made the Dustforce soundtrack on my AKG K240 headphones, although I recently got a pair of nice monitors (Genelec 8020b).

Dustforce Soundtrack

With Dustforce coming out in less than a week, I’ve got a lot of people asking me about the soundtrack. I’m really happy that people are interested! This is my first project and I’ve really had a lot of fun working and learning. Here is some information about the soundtrack:

When will it be released?

I’d like to release it as close to the game’s launch as possible, but I’m going to be busy working on the game itself (I do sound effects and level design too). I want to touch up some of the songs and give them endings (instead of loops), and maybe add a bonus track or two. This means it’ll probably be out sometime around January 22-25.

How much will it cost?

I’m not sure yet, I have no idea how to do this. I was thinking a pay-what-you-want scheme, maybe with a minimum of $4? Or no minimum? Send me your feedback on this! This is my first time.

Where can I get it?

I will have the album available on my Bandcamp page soon. Right now it’s empty, but you can find it at: http://lifeformed.bandcamp.com/

How many songs will be on the album?

I’m still adding tracks to the game as we speak, but I’d estimate around 18-20 or so. I’ll try to get some bonus tracks in too. each track is 3-5 minutes of original unlooped music.

Hello! Just discovered Dustforce on Reddit's /r/gaming community today. I must say.. I LOVE your music for this game. Please, please, please release a Soundtrack collection for the game. I realize the game isn't out yet, and I don't know how contractually obligated you are to them, whether they own the tracks or what... but seriously. Put those up somewhere and ask for Paypal donations, money will be flooding in. I'll be a day1 buyer, looks very fun.. sounds even better! CHEERS! <3
